Priestdale
Priestdale is a suburb of Logan and is located to the east of Rochedale South. The area contains family, and executive homes and is surrounded by lush bushland which forms the buffer zone between Redland Shire and Logan City. Much of the surrounding area is State Forest, National Park or Conservation Areas. The creek in the region was named Priest Gully when it was first surveyed in the early 1860s.
Located in Underwood Road, Priestdale is the iconic Underwood Park; a beautiful large park with a range of facilities. There are many gazebos around the park, with barbeque facilities as well as a small gazebo behind the lagoon, which makes it ideal for a wedding ceremony or other special occasions. Further into the park is a large play area for children with plentiful play equipment for children of varying ages. There is also a large off-leash area where your dog can run around in, and skate, basketball and BMX facilities. Public amenities include wheelchair accessible toilets.
Perfectly situated for a wedding, there is a small gazebo set behind a pretty lagoon, with has a decorative bridge that doubles as a stylish ‘aisle’ for the bride’s grand entrance. Further along, Underwood Road is Underwood Lagoon, a large wetland area that has a boardwalk and viewing platform, and makes an elegant backdrop for photos.
