Wishart
Characterised by low-set weatherboard houses with traditional Australian backyards mixed with newer housing developments, Wishart is about 14km south-east of the Brisbane CBD. The majority of the dwellings were constructed in the 1940s, 50s and 60s, and are being renovated as new residents move into the area.
Wishart is also close to the South East Busway, which makes accessing the CBD and other suburbs relatively convenient. Educational facilities offered to local residents include Brisbane Adventist College, St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School, and the Wishart State School. Neighbouring suburbs offer schools such as Mt Gravatt State High School, Mt Gravatt East Primary School, Christian Outreach College and St Agnes Catholic Primary. Residents are also close to Griffith University and Moreton and Mt Gravatt East TAFE Institutions.
Local shops are complemented by major retailers located at Garden City Shopping Centre and Westfield Carindale.
